贝博体育 has named Edna Magpantay-Monroe, Ed.D., APRN as the new Dean of the School of Nursing. Magpantay-Monroe joins 贝博体育 with a highly accomplished background as a professor, nurse, and chief nurse administrator with the qualifications, community relationships, and capabilities to lead and innovate 贝博体育’s newly established School of Nursing.
in response to growth in the University's nursing program that offers bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees and post-master certificate programs.
“I am truly honored to serve as the dean of this newly established school of nursing with the focus on preparing future nursing leaders who will exemplify grit and compassion,” said Magpantay-Monroe. “With my sincere desire to lead with value-based education in mind, I hope to foster equity, diversity, inclusion and adaptability.”
Magpantay-Monroe was a founding faculty member of the Chaminade University School of Nursing, chief nurse administrator, and a clinical coordinator that led to the creation of many collegial partnerships in Hawaii. She has an extensive background in leading fundraising events, including the funding of the international clinical immersion, as well as the funding of the Pu’ukohola summer enrichment program.
Magpantay-Monroe earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago, her Master of Science (primary care adult nurse practitioner) from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, and her Doctor of Education (education leadership concentration) from the University of Phoenix. She has a certificate in data science analytics and visualization from Chaminade University of Honolulu.

“I am confident that Dean Magpantay-Monroe will inspire and lead the school of nursing as it continues to grow enrollments in the BSN program and the online MSN, DNP, and post-master’s certificate programs.”
Magpantay-Monroe has won dozens of awards and recognitions relating to excellence in education, scholarships and administration. She was president for four years for the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society Gamma Psi at large chapter that includes 贝博体育, the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, Chaminade University, and the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo. She sits on advisory boards to benefit nursing and her community of interest (mental health, older adults, special education). She is active in mentorship of faculty and students through her research.
