Benjamin Fairfield, Ph.D.
贝博体育 adjunct professor Benjamin Fairfield, Ph.D., was selected as one of four Kamaʻaina Climate Artists in Residence for activities related to the State of Hawaiʻi's Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission (CCMAC). Fairfield currently teaches the Ecomusicology Workshop at 贝博体育 (MUS4000), where students repurpose salvaged rubbish into functional musical instruments, exploring musical acoustics, mechanics, and local sustainability issues through cultural perspectives. The instruments currently being built in the course will be among those featured in an exhibition sponsored by CCMAC at the Capitol Modern, the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum in Honolulu, from October 1-31, 2025.
