Zimmerman Trial : Why all gun owners should be happy

Zimmerman TrialGeorge Zimmerman will go down in history as this generations Bernhard Goetz. The vigilante gunslinger who got away with murder. With all the drama revolving around this trial, many seem to be missing a very important point. In all the clutter it may have appeared that this trial was about race, when in fact, it was just a sustained effort in a long hard push for more gun control. To gun owners keeping their eyes on the ball, this verdict actually gives a reason to celebrate.

Eyes on the ball

The ball in this case is the constant attacks on the right to bare arms.  There is a technique used in professional negotiating called a red herring.  This is when one side focuses on a misleading point in an effort to distract the opposition from the real issue at hand.  Simply put – a smoke screen. The race issue is such a sensitive subject that it can spin off a tremendous amount of smoke. Once the public is emotionally hijacked, the smoke can be so thick that the narrative becomes easily controlled and directed. As the smoke screen clears though, the real objective comes into view. Pay close attention to the narrative in the wake of this verdict. The President’s reaction was to focus on gun control. Holder set his sites on reversing the stand your ground self defense laws. The true object of desire at the epicenter of this trial continues to be advancing gun control. It’s a good thing that the verdict went our way. Let’s Celebrate.

Due process did its job

Zimmerman Trial The due process system prevailed throughout this trail despite several attempts to subvert it. After the initial investigation, the prosecutor and sheriff were fired for not making an arrest due to insufficient evidence. Two oath keepers stood by their oaths and lost their lively hoods because of it. The replacements were more than happy to force the arrest regardless of initial investigations. In the end, the jury believed that Zimmerman was 100% protected by the law and should not lose anymore of his life, liberty or property than he already has. Honesty time? I may not be a lawyer, but it seemed painfully clear to me, that the prosecution had a shit legal case.  All I’m saying is, if I was the prosecuting attorney, I would not have been happy with what I had to work with. The grand finale so far is…wait for it…the system worked and protected the individual from the big bad state. A legal win for gun owners so it’s time to celebrate. That is unless the DOJ decides to prosecute this poor bastard on the federal level for civil rights violations. Then we have to wait for that to fall apart too. Then we celebrate.

What the Verdict Means

There is a difference between a moral judgement and legal verdict. They jury’s verdict should not be taken as a judgement of the Zimmerman’s actions from a moral perspective. The jury was not voting on if his actions were good or bad.  Most would agree that an untimely death that could have been avoided is a very bad thing. Their job was to ascertain if Zimmerman’s actions were PROTECTED by the law.  The fact that the state even got involved with this case demonstrates how this is just another state sponsored attack on the individuals right to self defense with a firearm. Thus why this is a technical win for fellow gun runners and the American way. Let’s see if the stand your ground and castle doctrine laws come under attack in the near future. Although these laws technically weren’t in play during this trial, it is interesting to watch them get sucked into the conversation.

Muzzle Front Moral
